Vitamins

Everyone is striving for a healthy and balanced diet. However, we know that this is not always possible. That’s why so many people rely on vitamin products.

Here’s what you need to know about vitamins before considering a supplement launch:

There are 13 different types of vitamins which can be divided into two groups:

Fat-soluble vitamins:

  • Vitamin A

  • Vitamin D

  • Vitamin E

  • Vitamin K

These vitamins dissolve in fat and are mainly stored in the body’s fatty tissue. Fat-soluble vitamins in excess can have negative or even toxic effects over time.

Water-soluble vitamins:

  • Vitamin C

  • Vitamin B1 (Thiamine)

  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin)

  • Vitamin B3 (Niacin)

  • Vitamin B5 (Pantothenic acid)

  • Vitamin B6 (Pyridoxine)

  • Vitamin B7 (Biotin)

  • Vitamin B9 (Folic acid)

  • Vitamin B12 (Cobalamin)

These vitamins are soluble in water and can only be stored in the body for a short period. They are either discharged by urine or sweat or metabolized in the body. Nevertheless, an overdose of water-soluble vitamins can still be harmful, especially in extra high amounts. To avoid an adverse effect, we monitor the ingredients and legal requirements as well as recommendations and statements (e.g., Institute of Risk Assessment) closely with regard to the dosage and the recommended intake.

For most popular combinations of vitamins and minerals see the following:

  • Vitamin C + zinc: they are under the most important nutrients for a strong immune system

  • Vitamin B complex: the combination of all B-vitamins is an often used metabolism supplement. All B-vitamins are crucial for metabolism processes and often depend on each other.

  • Vitamin D and calcium: vitamin D enhances the absorption of calcium and helps support bone health. These nutrients should always be consumed alongside each other.

  • Vitamin C and iron: vitamin C improves the absorption of iron in the body. If there is a need for the consumption of iron, you should try to combine it with a source of vitamin C like orange juice.

  • Vitamin B6, vitamin B12 and folic acid: These three B-vitamins collaborate closely to strengthen the cardiovascular system’s health.

  • Vitamin A-Z: This known multivitamin preparation is still important and an all-time classics of food supplementation.
